The 2018 Capital Improvement Program included $10 million for reconstruction and rehabilitation of existing deficient bridges. The Texas Department of Transportation (TxDOT) and City staff perform regular inspections of bridges within Fort Worth. The inspection report for East Northside Drive bridges (eastbound and westbound) over Samuels Avenue are identified for replacement. This work effort consists of the preparation of plans and specifications for East Northside Drive bridge replacement. Teague Nall and Perkins, Inc. proposes to perform the necessary design work for time and materials fee of $299,875.00. City staff considers this fee to be fair and reasonable for the scope of services proposed. The engineering firm recommended for contract award was selected based on Transportation and Public Work's Request for Qualifications advertised in the Fort Worth Star-Telegram on January 5, 2017 and January 12, 2017. Funds for this project are included in the 2018 Bond Program. Available resources within the General Fund will be used to provide interim financing until debt is issued. Once debt associated with the project is sold, bond proceeds will reimburse the General Fund in accordance with the statement expressing official Intent to Reimburse that was adopted as part of the ordinance canvassing the bond election (Ordinance No. 23209-05-2018). M/WBE Office: Teague Nall and Perkins, Inc. is in compliance with the City's BDE Ordinance by committing to 9% SBE participation on this project. The City's SBE goal on this project is 5%.
