SUBJECT:   Authorize Extension of the Temporary Closure of a Segment of Mistletoe Boulevard between Jerome Street and Leslie Street for the Removal/Re-Installation of Curb and Gutter, Drainage, Sanitary Sewer, Water Utilities, and Paving from March 11, 2019 to April 25, 2019 (COUNCIL DISTRICT 9)
RECOMMENDATION:

It is recommended that the City Council authorize the extension of the temporary closure of a segment of Mistletoe Boulevard between Jerome Street and Leslie Street for the removal/re-installation of curb and gutter, drainage, sanitary sewer, water utilities, and roadway paving from March 11, 2019 to April 25, 2019.
 
DISCUSSION:

Rumsey Construction, LLC, requests the extension of the temporary closure of a segment of Mistletoe Boulevard between Jerome Street and Leslie Street from March 11, 2019 to April 25, 2019 for the removal/replacement of utilities servicing a new affordable multi-family housing project, Mistletoe Station. This closure was initially approved through M&C G-19379 on September 25, 2018. However, October 2018 through January 2019 exceeded normal rainfall averages for the Fort Worth/Dallas area by 3.25-in (135%) and work in ROW for this project is primarily the removal/replacement of underground utilities to include a 24-in sanitary sewer line, a 16-in water line, installation of a 6'x8' storm drain and removal of a 120-inch corrugated arch pipe.

Street closures in excess of ten-days require City Council approval. TPW Traffic Management reviewed and concurs with this request.

This temporary closure is in COUNCIL DISTRICT 9.

This M&C does not request approval of a contract with a business entity.
