The purpose of this M&C is to authorize execution of a construction contract with DMI, Corp., d/b/a Decker Mechanical, in the total amount of $835,515.00, including 7.5 percent for the Owner's Construction Contingency Allowance, for the Fort Worth Convention Center Air Handler Unit Replacement Project and to provide for associated administrative costs. This project is to replace main components in the 15 year old air-condition system which serves the exhibit halls. The project will remove unit heaters and replace air handling units as well as provide new branch piping and accessories for chilled for chilled water coils, and reconnect all electrical and sensors. The City issued a Request for Proposals (RFP) in the Fort Worth Star-Telegram on September 27, 2018 and October 4, 2018, and received five proposals on November 1, 2018. Two of these mechanical contractors provided the required "Post Proposal–Pre Award Submittals" to be further evaluated by the City. These proposals were reviewed by members of the Public Events Department, the M/WBE Office and the Property Management Department and were evaluated for best value based on the criteria set forth in the Request for Proposals. The selection team recommends award the construction contract to DMI, Corp. d/b/a Decker Mechanical. The following table provides a summary of the scoring.

In accordance with Chapter 7, Article III, Section 7-47, Section 109.2.1 of the City Code, Building and Trade Permit Fees and are waived for this project.
M/WBE OFFICE - DMI, Corp. (Decker Mechanical) is in compliance with the City's BDE Ordinance by committing to 24% MBE participation on this project. The City's MBE goal on this project is 15%.
