DISCUSSION: |
On September 11, 2018 (M&C C-28848), the City Council authorized execution of a contract with R & D Burns Brothers, Inc., in the amount of $2,421,295.00 for Lake Worth Water and Sanitary Sewer Improvements, Part 1.
This project includes the installation of 83 pressure reducing valves on residential water service lines in order to prevent damage from higher pressure in the new project water main. The latest plumbing code requires the installation of thermal expansion tanks adjacent to customer water heaters to further prevent damage to customer appliances. Change Order No. 1 provides for installation of the thermal expansion tanks. M/WBE OFFICE: A waiver of the goal for MBE/SBE subcontracting requirements was requested by the Department and approved by the MWBE Office, in accordance with the BDE Ordinance, because the purchase of goods or services is from sources where subcontracting or supplier opportunities are negligible.
The project is located in COUNCIL DISTRICT 7. |
