DISCUSSION:

The purpose of this Mayor and Council Communication is to authorize Amendment No. 2 to the Professional Services Agreement with Halff Associates, Inc., for additional time and funding to modify the Channel Inventory scope of work to include the condition assessment of Stormwater drainage channels and structures and to extend the contract term by an additional 18 months. The original agreement was approved by City Council on December 6, 2016 (M&C C-28006), in the amount $800,000.00 and was renewed and amended (September 28, 2018) resulting in a total contract amount not to exceed $1,300,000.00.

The modifications to the original scope of work will include collecting information needed for the City's existing Stormwater Channel Rating as well as developing a condition rating for channel structures and assessing condition at all locations visited during the contract. By better understanding the condition of the Channels and their associated structures both engineers and field personnel can make better life-cycle decisions about asset repair and maintenance for prioritizing resources.

Halff Associates, Inc., agrees to provide the additional services for $172,000.00 bringing the total contract amount to $1,472,000.00.

This contract will have no impact on the Stormwater annual operating budget.

M/WBE Office - Halff Associates, Inc., is in compliance with the City's BDE Ordinance by committing to 18% SBE participation on Amendment No. 2 on this project. The City's SBE goal on Amendment No. 2 is 18%.

This project is located in ALL COUNCIL DISTRICTS.

FISCAL INFORMATION/CERTIFICATION:
