RECOMMENDATION:

It is recommended that the City Council authorize execution of Change Order No. 5 to City Secretary No. 48125 with Jackson Construction, Ltd., in the amount of -$472,485.70 for the Marine Creek Parkway and Old Decatur Project, thereby decreasing the total contract amount to $11,212,928.53 (City Project No. 02506/02304).

 
DISCUSSION:

On June 28, 2016, Mayor and Council Communication (M&C C-27816), the City Council authorized award of a construction contract with Jackson Construction, Ltd., in the amount up to $11,531,299.00, inclusive of potential incentives, for the construction of improvements to Marine Creek Parkway/Old Decatur Road from south of McLeroy Boulevard to north of Grayson Road, Cromwell Marine Creek Road from Old Decatur Road to Marine Creek Parkway and Longhorn Road from Old Decatur Road to Marine Creek Parkway and construction of Northside II 48-inch water Transmission Main Phase 2, Part 3.

Change Order No. 5 in the amount of -$472,485.70 reconciles the final quantity over and underruns of which the difference will be reallocated to street improvements and  water improvements for the Marine Creek Parkway and Old Decatur Road Project construction project. This provides for processing final close out of the project and construction contract. The final inspection was performed on June 6, 2018.

This project is located in COUNCIL DISTRICT 2.

 
FISCAL INFORMATION/CERTIFICATION:

The Director of Finance certifies that upon approval of the above recommendation funds will be available in the current capital budget as appropriated of the 2014 Bond Program Fund and the Water and Sewer Bond 2017A Fund.
