Authorize Rejection of the Bid Received for Parking Lot Maintenance for the Public Events Department (COUNCIL DISTRICT 7)


RECOMMENDATION:

It is recommended that the City Council authorize rejection of the bid received for parking lot maintenance for the Public Events Departments.

 
DISCUSSION:

The Public Events Department approached the Purchasing Division to establish an annual agreement to provide all necessary materials and services for parking lot maintenance and related activities as requested by the Public Events Department. Staff issued an Invitation to Bid (ITB) consisting of details to ten related vendors.  The ITB was advertised in the Fort Worth Star-Telegram on August 1, 2018, August 8, 2018,  August 15, 2018,  August 22, 2018, August 29, 2018 and September 5, 2018.  The City received one bid.  

Since the city received only 1 bid, Staff recommends rejecting the bid and revising the scope in order to increase competition.  

This M&C does not request approval of a contract with a business entity.

 
FISCAL INFORMATION/CERTIFICATION:

The Director of Finance certifies that this action will have no material effect on City funds.
