DISCUSSION: | ||||||||
TXU Energy Retail Company, LLC has offered to dedicate an approximately 2.89 acre tract of land to the City of Fort Worth to be used as park land. The property is located south of Berry Street and East of Carey Road, in Southeast Fort Worth. The donated land will ultimately be incorporated into the existing William McDonald Park. There is an existing water well on the property that will need to be removed or relocated at the City's expense.
Although the land is being donated to the City at no cost, Tarrant Appraisal District records indicate the estimated value of the property to be $31,472.00. The annual cost to maintain the additional parkland is estimated to be $2,940.00. Funding for operations and maintenance will be allocated into the Park & Recreation Department's base budget beginning in Fiscal Year 2020. This M&C does not request approval of a contract with a business entity. |

FISCAL INFORMATION/CERTIFICATION: | ||||||||
The Director of Finance certifies that the financial records of the City will be updated to reflect this donation based upon the Capital Asset Policy contained within the Financial Management Policy Statements. The Director of Finance also certifies that approval of the above recommendations will not result in additional appropriations in the Fiscal Year 2018 Budget. |
