SUBJECT:   Authorize the Temporary Closure of a Segment of Mistletoe Blvd. between Jerome Street and Leslie Street from September 19, 2018 to March 3, 2019 for the Removal/Re-Installation of Curb & Gutter, Drainage, Sanitary Sewer, Water Utilities and Paving (COUNCIL DISTRICT 9)
RECOMMENDATION:

It is recommended that the City Council authorize the temporary closure of a segment of Mistletoe Blvd. between Jerome Street and Leslie Street for the removal/re-installation of curb & gutter, drainage, sanitary sewer, water, and roadway paving from September 19, 2018 to March 3, 2019.
 
DISCUSSION:

Rumsey Construction, LLC, a developer's contractor, requests the temporary closure of a segment of Mistletoe Blvd. between Jerome Street and Leslie Street from September 19, 2018 to March 3, 2019 for the removal/replacement of utilities servicing a new affordable multi-family housing project, Mistletoe Station. Work includes removal of existing utilities and replacement with a 24-inch sanitary sewer line, and a 16-inch water line. Work also includes installation of two side-by-side 10'x8' box culverts across Mistletoe Blvd. to upgrade the existing storm drain and removal of a 120-inch corrugated arch pipe. This segment of Mistletoe Blvd. is 26-feet wide and due to the scope of work and worker safety issues Rumsey Construction is requesting this temporary closure.  

Street closures in excess of ten-days requires City Council approval.  TPW Traffic Management reviewed and concurs with this request.

This temporary closure is in Council District 9,

This M&C does not request approval of a contract with a business entity.

The Director of Finance certifies this action will have no material effect on City funds.
