Adopt Appropriation Ordinances Increasing Estimated Receipts and Appropriations in the Water and Sewer Capital Fund in the Amount of $84,260.00 and in the Stormwater Capital Projects Fund in the Amount of $17,800.00 for Sanitary Sewer Rehabilitation, Contract 87 (COUNCIL DISTRICT 8)


RECOMMENDATION:

It is recommended that the City Council:

  1. Adopt the attached Appropriation Ordinance increasing estimated receipts and appropriations in the Water and Sewer Capital Fund in the amount of $84,260.00 for the purpose of funding Sanitary Sewer Rehabilitation, Contract 87 (City Project No. 01956); and

  2. Adopt the attached Appropriation Ordinance increasing estimated receipts and appropriations in the Stormwater Capital Projects Fund in the amount of $17,800.00.
 
DISCUSSION:

On January 9, 2018, Mayor and Council Communication (M&C C-28535), the City Council authorized a contract with Woody Contractors, Inc., (City Secretary Contract No. 50285) in the amount of $2,277,453.80 for construction of the Sanitary Sewer Rehabilitation, Contract 87 project. The contract was subsequently revised by Change Order No. 1 in the amount of $118,196.00 authorized August 7, 2018 (M&C C-28779).

This project requires funding in the amount of $13,000.00 for project management, material testing and inspection costs and to cover costs associated with future Change Order No. 2 in the amount of $89,060.00 for the replacement of the severely deteriorated water main which was discovered during sanitary sewer installation on Barnett Street and the replacement of four storm drain inlet tops on Brentwood Stair Road. TPW Stormwater will fund the replacement of the inlet tops.

The project is located in COUNCIL DISTRICT 8.

This M&C does not request approval of a contract with a business entity.

 
FISCAL INFORMATION/CERTIFICATION:

The Director of Finance certifies that upon approval of the above recommendation and adoption of the attached appropriation ordinances, funds will be available in the current capital budget, as appropriated of Water and Sewer Capital Fund and the Storm Water Capital Projects Fund. The Fiscal Year 2018 Water Operating Budget includes appropriations of $29,069,236.00 for the purpose of providing Pay-As-You-Go funding for Water Capital Projects. After this transfer for Fiscal Year 2018, the balance will be $3,229,791.00
