Accept Donation of Approximately 32.040 Acres of Vacant Land Located Adjacent to the Western Perimeter of Fort Worth Alliance Airport and Located in the City of Haslet, Tarrant County, from ADL Development, L.P., for Expansion of the Fort Worth Alliance Airport  (ADJACENT TO COUNCIL DISTRICT 7)

It is recommended that the City Council:

1. Accept the donation of approximately 32.040 acres of vacant land out of the C.R. Harmon Survey, Abstract Number 737, the M.E.P. & P.R.R. CO. Survey, Abstract Number 1135 and the G. Overton Survey, Abstract 1185,  located in the City of Haslet, Tarrant County and adjacent to the western perimeter of Fort Worth Alliance Airport from ADL Development, L.P. for expansion of the Fort Worth Alliance Airport; and

2.  Authorize the City Manager or his designee to accept and record the appropriate instruments conveying the land to the City.

Aviation staff received an offer from ADL Development, L.P. to donate approximately 32.040 acres of vacant land adjacent to the west side of Fort Worth Alliance Airport for expansion of the airport.  The donation of this land will allow additional public protection along the west perimeter of the airport by providing a larger protection zone as well as enhance the margin of safety on airport property ground in accordance with Federal Aviation Advisory Circulars.

Conveyance of the land to the City will be subject to the City's final acceptance of its environmental condition.  The donor will reserve the mineral interest, but will waive surface rights for exploration and production of the minerals in, on and under the property. Tarrant Appraisal District records indicate the estimated value of the donated property is $1,535,000.

This property is located outside the City of Fort Worth city limits, in the City of Haslet.
