It is recommended that the City Council authorize the temporary closure of Kimbo Road from Fairview Street to Mesquite Road, from June 2, 2018 thru August 18, 2018, to allow appropriate working conditions, public safety and to expedite the construction schedule to reconstruct and pave this section during the FWISD summer break.

Conatser Construction TX, LP, the contractor for this project (CSC No. 50573, M&C C-28615, March 6, 2018), requests the temporary closure of Kimbo Road from Fairview Street to Mesquite Road, from June 2, 2018 thru August 18, 2018 to adjust the street grade in front of the school. Kimbo Road is undergoing re-construction and a significant vertical adjustment in grade is required to convert the existing ditch section to concrete curb and gutter. This closure is necessary to allow appropriate working conditions, public safety and to expedite the construction schedule. The closure is scheduled during Summer Break of the Fort Worth School District and Bonnie Brea Elementary School.

Street closures in excess of 10 days require the approval of City Council. Access to local businesses and residential neighborhoods will be maintained. A traffic control plan and detour route has been approved. The Department of Transportation and Public Works Traffic Management Division has reviewed and concurs with this request.

This road closure is located in COUNCIL DISTRICT 4.

This M&C does not request approval of a contract with a business entity.
