The Code Compliance Department will use this Agreement for furnishing equipment, materials, labor and personnel for container provision, refuse and garbage removal and disposal. Services will consist of single stream recycling removal and processing services from City facilities as called for and directed by the City. The Water Department Village Creek Wastewater Treatment Plant will also use this Agreement for the pickup and disposal of solid debris from bar screens as well as miscellaneous trash and grit from drying beds. The Public Events Department will also use this Agreement for the composting of animal waste at the Will Rogers Memorial Center.
BID ADVERTISEMENT - This bid was advertised in the Fort Worth Star-Telegram on November 15, 2017, November 22, 2017 and November 29, 2017. Nineteen vendors were solicited from the purchasing database system; two responses were received.
PRICING ANALYSIS - The unit price is 16.55 percent lower than the pricing on the previous annual Agreement awarded in awarded October 9, 2012 Mayor and Council Communication (M&C P-11444). Staff reviewed the proposed pricing and certified that the prices offered by the recommended vendors are fair and reasonable. BID TABULATION - See attached bid tabulation. M/WBE - Republic Services is in compliance with the City's M/WBE Ordinance by committing to 10 percent SBE participation on this project. The City's SBE goal on this project is 10 percent.
AGREEMENT TERMS - Upon City Council's approval, this Agreement shall commence on February 21, 2018 and shall expire on February 20, 2019.
RENEWAL OPTIONS - The Agreement may be renewed for up to four additional one-year terms by mutual Agreement of the parties. This action does not require specific City Council approval provided that the City Council has appropriated sufficient funds to satisfy the City's obligations during the renewal term.
