The City Council previously approved Mayor and Council Communication (M&C G-18906) on December 13, 2016, which authorized the application for the Fiscal Year 2017 Emergency Management Performance Grant Program Award, acceptance of the grant in the anticipated amount of $170,000.00 and execution of the grant contract. The final grant award included an additional amount of $61,151.00 for a total amount of $231,151.00 and will be used to reimburse eligible expenditures for the City's Emergency Management Program. Funds are available within the Fire Department's Fiscal Year 2017 budget allocations to cover the additional grants match requirement.
This Mayor and Council Communication (M&C) is solely to receive additional grant funds awarded by the State of Texas Department of Public Safety, that exceed the amount the City Council already approved in M&C G-18906.
