SUBJECT:  

Reject the Bid Received for the Fort Worth Convention Center Roof Top Units Repairs Submitted by ICON Diversified, LLC (COUNCIL DISTRICT 9)
RECOMMENDATION:

It is recommended that the City Council reject the bid received for the Fort Worth Convention Center Roof Top Units Repairs submitted by ICON Diversified, LLC.
 
DISCUSSION:

The purpose of this Mayor and Council Communication (M&C) is to authorize the rejection of the one bid received for the Fort Worth Convention Center Roof Top Units Repairs submitted by ICON Diversified, LLC.

On July  6, 2017 and July 13, 2017, the project was advertised in the Fort Worth Star-Telegram.  On August 10, 2017, the City of Fort Worth received one sealed bid for the construction of the project.  After analyzing the sole bid received Staff has determined that this bid exceeds the project budget as ICON Diversified, LLC's bid amount was $399,900.00 and the construction budget for this project was $320,000.00.

Staff recommends rejecting all bids.  Staff has reviewed the project scope and made necessary adjustments in order to meet current budget.  This project will be offered a Job Order Contractor (M&C C-28325, August 15, 2017) in order to meet the project needs and budget.

The project is located in COUNCIL DISTRICT 9.

This M&C does not request approval of a contract with a business entity.

The Director of Finance certifies that this action will have no material effect on City funds.
