SUBJECT:   Authorize Acceptance of the Donation of One Rowing Machine from Fit Supply, LLC, Valued in the Amount of $1,500.00 for the Fort Worth Fire Department (COUNCIL DISTRICT 2)
RECOMMENDATION:

It is recommended that the City Council authorize the acceptance of a donation of one rowing machine from Fit Supply, LLC, valued in the amount of $1,500.00 for the Fort Worth Fire Department.
 
DISCUSSION:

The Fire Department is requesting City Council accept the donation of one rowing machine from Fit Supply, LLC. This rowing machine will augment the exercise equipment located at Fire Station 25 and will be used by Fire Department staff as part of their ongoing physical fitness and training regimen.

Fit Supply, LLC, is an authorized local vendor of fitness equipment with offices in Grand Prairie. They are currently a non-exclusive provider of exercise equipment to the City of Fort Worth and have been an active vendor for the City since 2013. The rowing machine provided to the Fire Department has an approximate retail value of $1,500.00. This donation is provided with no expectation of future purchase or obligation to the City of Fort Worth.

The Fire Department is requesting formal acceptance of the donation through this Mayor and Council Communication.

This M&C does not request approval of a contract with a business entity.
 
FISCAL INFORMATION/CERTIFICATION:

The Director of Finance certifies that approval of the above recommendation will not result in any additional appropriations in the Fiscal Year 2017 budget.
