It is recommended that the City Council authorize the temporary closure of Blue Mound Road W from Willow Springs Road to Hicks Avondale School Road for infrastructure improvements to include water, sanitary sewer, storm drain, paving, street lighting, and pedestrian facilities.

Hanover Development and Kodiak Construction request the temporary closure of Blue Mound Road W from Willow Springs Road to Hicks Avondale School Road from May 2, 2017 through August 31, 2017 for the Area 1 North, Phase 1 development of the Wellington Project; a 326 lot residential community in north Fort Worth. This project includes installation of new utility services, construction of pedestrian facilities, construction of a re-aligned Blue Mound Road W, and re-construction of 2500-feet of old Blue Mound Road W as a new residential street named, Sebright Trail.

The temporary closure of Blue Mound Road W runs concurrent with the construction and physical improvements of Sebright Trail. This provides an increased measure of safety to the driving public, construction workers, and the City of Fort Worth inspectors during the installation of public improvements.

Local businesses and neighborhoods will be notified of the closure and detour route by electronic message boards.

Street closures in excess of ten days require the approval of City Council. Transportation and Public Works, Traffic Management Division has reviewed, and concurs, with this request.

This road closure is located in COUNCIL DISTRICT 7, Mapsco 19E and 19F.

This M&C does not request approval of a contract with a business entity.
