Authorize Execution of an Amendment to Extend the Term of the Lease at 6773 Camp Bowie for Office Space for the Fort Worth Police Department (COUNCIL DISTRICT 3)

It is recommended for the City Council to authorize the execution of an amendment to extend the term of the lease of office space at 6773 Camp Bowie for the Fort Worth Police Department (City Secretary Contract No. 35572) for a term of one year and add a one year renewal option.  

On July 10, 2007, Mayor and Council Communication (M&C L-14354), City Council approved a lease agreement between the City of Fort Worth (City) and Wellington Square Shopping Center (Lessor) to lease approximately 1600 square feet of space located at 6773 Camp Bowie Boulevard to be used by the Fort Worth Police Department as office space.

The lease agreement included one five year renewal period which was executed (CSC No. 35572-R1) and expires September 30, 2017.

The City and Lessor desire to extend the lease for one year with an expiration on September 30, 2018, at the current rental rate of $1,600.00 per month, with an additional one year renewal option at $1,760.00 per month.  The parties will also add a 90 day termination for convenience provision.
