The Village Creek Biosolids Processing Facility Building was constructed in 1995 and consists of a pre-engineered metal structure which houses the biosolids conveyer assembly, filter presses, and chemical mixing and feed systems. The building is approximately 10,000 square feet. The off-gas from the biosolids processing has resulted in severe corrosion of the roof panels and purlins, which necessitates a complete replacement.
On February 2, 2016, (M&C P-11832) the City Council authorized a purchase agreement with Castro Roofing of Texas, LLC, using the Interlocal Purchasing System/Texas-Arkansas Purchasing Contract No. 2092415 to perform roof repairs and replacements at City facilities.
Castro Roofing of Texas LLC has provided the Water Department a price proposal for the work to replace the Village Creek Biosolids Processing Facility Roof in the amount of $90,767.00. This proposal was prepared under the terms and pricing contained within the above referenced purchasing contract. Staff considers the price proposal to be fair and reasonable for the work required. In addition to the roof replacement cost, $15,000.00 is requested for project contingencies.
This project is anticipated to start in January 2017 and be completed by March 2017.
The Village Creek Biosolids Processing Facility serves the entire City. The facility is located at 2501 Greenbelt Road in COUNCIL DISTRICT 5, Mapsco 333-F4 (68N). This project will have no impact to the Water Department's operating budget when completed.
This M&C does not request approval of a contract with a business entity. |
