This project provides for the construction of Altamesa Boulevard Phase 2, as a six-lane divided arterial roadway under two separate phases. Phase 1 was completed in 2007 and improved roadway was extended from Bryant Irvin Road to Chisholm Trail Parkway (SH 121). Phase 2 is currently under construction and extends from Chisholm Trail Parkway to Granbury Road. Phase 2 includes a new railroad bridge structure, retaining wall, sidewalk, water main adjustments, improved roadway, traffic signal modifications and street lights. This roadway provides an east/west arterial connection with the rapidly developing area adjacent to Chisholm Trail Parkway (SH 121). It also provides for safety improvements and additional roadway and intersection capacity to address increased traffic demand. During the roadway lime subgrade preparation for the westbound segment of the roadway improvements near Granbury Road a 24 inch water main was damaged on October 11, 2016. The 24 inch water main was repaired by the Water Department and returned back in service. It has been determined that the record drawings for the water line did not reflect the actual field location. It is necessary to lower the 24 inch water line to complete the construction of the roadway. As a result of this additional work, project completion is extended from March 2017 to April 2017. M/WBE OFFICE: Austin Bridge & Road, LP is in compliance with the City's DBE Policy by committing to an additional 84 percent DBE participation on this Change Order No. 9. The City's goal on this Change Order or extra work is 10 percent.
